The Amazon Prime Video App is finally available in the, Mac App store as the native Mac OS App. The Prime Video subscribers with the Mac devices who hitherto to Watch the Amazon Prime Video content, through the browser route can now stream the content through the app or download it to watch later. Amazon Prime video app for the Mac OS has all its standard features, that includes the native picture in picture support as well as Air play support.
So it allows for in app payments for rentals as well for on demand content. It means users need not to switch to the browser to complete the payments. The more other features in the app includes, keeping track of what users are watching and where they are in the TV series, or movie so that it can be watched on one device and then continued seamlessly on another. Sync is across Amazon Prime video apps or other platforms too.
This is available for the Mac OS on the Mac App store as a free download. It is compatible with the Mac OS Big Sur 11.4 and later. Amazon Prime subscription is needed to view the streaming content. Going through the responses to the new app one can see that the majority of the people who have used the App feel the options for the download and, the streaming quality is the welcome one. There have been complaints about the UX which is not exactly surprising.
Amazon has come up with its App on the Mac App store it is the signal for its competitors like, Netflix, Disney and HBO to the follow suit. For now it is all advantage Amazon Prime video. It recently introduces an interesting feature, it will let the users to select and share the 30 seconds clips from its original shows. It is like going a step ahead of Netflix, and it hosts pre cut clips into separate tab called Fast Laughs.
