The latest attempt by Amazon to entertain the children is an innovative effort that combines, an interactive projector with Amazon Kids Plus the excellent catalog of child friendly content. It is not an Alexa Device despite having 4 microphones built in and sharing the name with the Echo lamp for Kids. Being a part of Amazon growing open smart home ecosystem the $300 Amazon Glow is an expensive that manicured walled garden for your kids.
Video calling interactive gaming device specifically designed to make it easier for the children to communicate with friends and family, Amazon Glow is attempting to make these rather forced interactions more natural, engaging and fun. Facebook Portal Go tries to solve the problem of wriggly the distractible kids, by making the portable device that lets and bring the conversation to where they are and the Amazon tries to keep the kid captivated with Grandma through stationary tabletop projector. This is very promising but feels unfinished a bit rough around the edges and too limiting. The touch enabled technology makes a ton of sense In the home, when the users do not want screens everywhere. Small voice activated projection cabinet that could project on the kitchen counter, wall when the users need a recipe or to see the feed from the video doorbell could easily be next evolution of Amazon smart home Efforts.
