In case you’ve been expecting an inexpensive Apple TV, you may not have to wait much longer. On Friday, TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated in a tweet that Apple will release a brand new Apple television version that “improves price structure” within the second half of 2022. In keeping with Kuo, Apple wants to near the gap with its competitors.
Inexpensive Apple TV coming this fall
Apple currently sells three Apple television models on its internet site and at its retail shops. First up is the Apple TV 4K, which comes with 32GB of storage for $179 and 64GB for $199. It’s still one of the maximum effective streaming players on the market over a year after its launch ultimate April. Additionally, Apple sells the Apple television HD with 32GB of storage for $149. It’s a solid piece of hardware, but at $149, it’s a terrible deal in a more and more crowded marketplace.
This week, Roku introduced that it’s going to now consist of its Voice far off pro in the container with its high-end Roku ultra. The Roku ultra helps 4K, HDR, Dolby Vision, and Dolby Atmos — interested in $100. Simply to emphasize the point, this is $50 inexpensive than Apple’s 1080p player and $80 less expensive than its cheapest 4K version.

As effective and smooth as the Apple TV might be, its market share has been lagging in the back of the likes of Roku and Amazon for years. Apple frequently takes its sweet time bringing lower-priced variations of its most famous products to market. For an instance, the iPhone SE got here almost a decade after the first iPhone. However, if Apple wants to get tvOS into more homes, it wishes to extend its imparting to encompass an extra good value tool.
Unfortunately, Kuo didn’t share any information about what that device might appear like or what it’ll price. All we realize is that it’ll be cheaper than the Apple tv 4K, which starts at $179.
We don’t have the solutions to any of those questions, but if Apple is going to release a more low-cost Apple television, then it needs to do so without making the Apple television 4K obsolete. The real question is what the company can be willing to compromise directly to make this device a reality. Regardless of the case, with as much trouble as Apple has had to preserve anything a secret lately, we’ll probably analyze extra about the product long before Apple publicizes it.
