MediaTek is supplying chipsets to a number of Android smart phone makers. But we should note that the company’s high-end gadgets have never reached to the level of the Qualcomm Snapdragon series ever. However, the latest MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000 may eventually alter this thing.
MediaTek is claiming that the Dimensity 9000 chip’s multi-core performance is comparable to that of the Apple iPhone 13 A15 chipset. Furthermore, the overall performance of it is 35% better than that of the Snapdragon 888 chipsets.
Parameters of Dimensity 9000
At a festival held by the company before this week, MediaTek released the Dimensity 9000. It is considered to be the company’s most powerful chipset to date. The performance of the chip will be about 35% faster than that of the Snapdragon 888. Plus, the graphics performance will exceed by 35% that of the Snapdragon 888.
The architecture of the Dimensity 9000 depends upon TSMC’s ‘4nm’ process. It utilizes the Cortex-X2 core with a main frequency of 3.05GHz. Apart from this, there are about three Cortex-A710 cores along with the main frequency of 2.85GHz also possessed with the four Cortex-A510 cores with the main frequency of 1.8 GHz.

The Mali-G710 YOU is coming with ten cores. The APU is made up of four performance cores & 2 flexible cores.
In order to improve performance of the functions of the chipsets, the ‘Image Signal Processor’ is actually a 7th generation 18-bit Imagiq ISP. The latter can have a capacity for capturing 320MP images & transmit data at a higher speed of 9 billion pixels per second. The on board modem have a support for 5G networks. But it only supports a sub-6GHz standard, not a millimeter-wave. It means that the chip is likely not to be utilized in the United States (US). As you must be aware, the major US operators are much concerned and focused on the millimeter-wave 5G standard.
