Microsoft Office having the biggest change in decades is expanding into the Microsoft Loop a hub for the new way of working in Office. It is the new branding for the Microsoft Fluid Work that blocks of collaborative Office Content, that can live independently and be copies, pasted and shared with others.
Microsoft Fluid has 3 main elements, loop Components, Loop pages and Loop workspaces. The components are live pieces of content that can exist across multiple apps and updates in real time and free for anyone to jump into. The list can be shared in a team channel and also editable in a Loop page or notes in the calendar entry, that are also available to be pasted into Outlook, and edited in real time within an Email.
The components can also exist in the main Microsoft Loop hub and inside what Microsoft calls shared Loop workspaces. This is like a project board and where see a list of all Loop components and Loop pages and are currently working on them. Loop pages are individual canvases, where people can share and collaborate on Loop components.

It’s a modern version of the white board, but far more powerful because users can insert and share components that people have created outside of the Loop. For the couple of years these Collaborative Loop components are the dream of the Microsoft and it is clear that Company has been adjusting how Loop works to fit the realities of pandemic Life.
The clear response to the new hybrid work era to which many businesses are adjusting the Competition like Notion. Loop components have been impressive so far but it is needed to be experience for ourselves to really understand, whether the Loop can truly delivers the seamless experience that Microsoft Keeps promising.
Microsoft has been talking about Loop fluid for nearly eighteen months and it is still not something that is inside Office apps yet. These components will arrive in Teams, Outlook and the OneNote this month and its main app will be released at the later date.
