The ‘Dubsmash’ is getting shut down by the Reddit on the 22 February 2022. In 2022 after February, the Dubsmash will no longer be available to download in the Apple App store or from the Google play store. On the same date the currently running download apps will stop functioning. In the December 2020, the company acquired Dubsmash and said that it would integrate its video creation tools into the Reddit.
“Dubsmash leadership team” joined the Reddit and now nearly a year later the Reddit says that: The Dubsmash team has been accelerating the app video offerings and that is the parts of Reddit and will feel familiar to Dubsmash users. At the time of joining the team has been working to integrate the innovative video creation tools into the App Reddit. This can be done with the goal of empowering Reddit own creators to express themselves in the original ways and it is authentic to our communities.
Different intense communities come together for timely or interactive and authentic exchanges about the topic. It matter to them and the video is increasingly core to how the people want to connect on the Reddit.

The App has rolled out the Video feed feature in August for the Apple users. It shows the stream of videos in the TikTok like configuration. The users of the TikTok app can scroll up to see the other videos, sometime feeding content, some time the subreddits contents the users subscribed to as well as related ones.
At this time the Reddit has completed its Dubsmash integration and it is no surprise that it is looking to garner more users. It is due to the launch of its new video creation tools as it aims to continue to compete with the TikTok. These apps like ‘TikTok and Snapchat’ go beyond the simple videos creation and as they also leverage sounds and music on their platforms.
